Still At It...

So here we are, still at war. What is the strategy? I don’t know, and neither does our president, who started this war, to do… what? On one hand, as much as I dislike Trump and his political movement, he did get Iran back for all those deaths in Iraq during his first term. I understand Iran isn’t the best country in the world, but overall, I feel that you have to wonder what the fuck is going on with his mind. I don’t know what made him think (probably the Epstein Files were getting too close?), but we’re at the precipice of a “total obliteration” of Iran, and yet we still haven’t opened the Strait of Hormuz. The fact of the matter is that this “excursion” (Trump’s own words) is costing us on the world stage. We’re not reliable; people I’ve seen and interacted with are mocking us because of him and his follies. He’s dragging us into a forever war that the country didn’t want, or even need.
Let’s not forget that Israel wanted to bomb Iran. I mean, I can understand from their viewpoint as to why they got Trump to sign on and bomb the country. I get it and acknowledge the level of hate. But treating Tehran like Gaza doesn’t win the fifth, because those same civilians you carpet-bombed don’t see any reason to “rise up and fight” the Iranian government. Blowing up a desalination plant wasn’t a good idea, and Trump’s insistence that other world nations have to provide forces to open the Strait of Hormuz was an abject failure of diplomacy. As misguided as Iraq was, it was planned at the very least, not “Hey, let’s go bomb a country, haha.” I fought in two wars, and for the most part didn’t question it. I had some misgivings about the Iraq deployment (I never actively searched for WMD) and fought it like the good Soldier that I was.
Now that Iran is off, it’s shameful to believe people elected Trump and are subsequently hiring incompetent people to handle a task as big as running a government. Too many mistakes, too much pain, and the country will take time to heal if it’s possible. There’s no way a sane individual can say that Trump did us good. Maybe getting rid of pennies, because they’re useless, but overall nothing but corruption and incompetence will mar the political landscape for generations, long after I die and am buried. I’m sorry, I support the military and wish the service members well, even in death, but I cannot support a war led by some of the most incompetent people on this planet.
