Musings about the militarization of DC

As a veteran who served in the Active Duty and ARNG, I'm finding that respect for the military is going to the shitter because of this "beautification" of DC. While it is a task that troops do, it's not in a city, more or less base facilities and such. It's a part of the duty, but listening to your responses shows that what respect people may have had for the Guard, if any, is starting to sway towards derision. Sure we in the military have issues, but this is ridiculous in nature that we have to look stupid because of Trump.
