We Won, Again

As the country moves toward Friday, where hopefully a peace deal can be brokered, I started to wonder just what we achieved, in retrospect to Obama’s deal before. The fact of the matter is that we didn’t win this “war”, “special military operation”, or “excursion” that was basically a conflict. While the thought of giving 300 billion to Iran is being debated, I’m quite sure we will, and they’ll make us even weaker. We didn’t win anything, and 14 servicemembers died in a conflict that really didn’t need to happen. Plain and simple, Netanyahu egged Trump on, and Trump, lacking any sense, went on with attacking Iran. It was disheartening to hear that Israel would never participate in any ground operation, which, while I wouldn’t mind some Israeli soldiers dying, shows that we’re just another sucker in his own games. I don’t hate the people of Israel and feel sad that their “leader” is Netanyahu, who is facing possible jail time for his own crimes, and is largely keeping the conflict in Lebanon going due to his inability to take responsibility for his own actions.

Frankly, as an American, I don’t feel proud to be one most of the time, or really don’t think of being one. I’m just another yokel local who lives in what was once the greatest country in the world. I was proud to be an American prior to Trump 2.0, and the fact that we who care about the country (who don’t hate it like MAGA clearly does) finally see us as the bad guy, and rightly so. We’ve done so much harm to the world in nearly two years. It’s amazing how one person can ruin the country, while in the next breath, blame Democrats for “destroying the country.” Well, Mr. President, what have you done to improve it? A more highly paid military? Canceling programs that now “China is eating our lunch” (According to RFK Jr.) in development. It wasn’t China’s fault that you removed the necessary programs. The cuts of a supposed “savvy businessman” have only ruined our possible lead in a lot of sciences, all because you think you know what you’re doing. We all know, you clearly don’t. I’m not an expert by far, but I think destroying our citizens’ lives is not “Making America Great”. We were great, even under Biden, who admittedly was getting a little bit softer in the head, while Republicans look the other way when somebody is acting worse due to inherited dementia.

The nation will take time to heal after his death, hopefully, but the Republicans (and Democrats too) need to clean their act up and stray away from this demented logic that now permeates the political landscape. Where dumb people think that they have some sort of right above others to speak their mind, while the intelligent people need to be suppressed. This isn’t what the Founding Fathers envisioned, and this dip into fascism isn’t doing the country any favors. I support the legalization of states acting against ICE, taking our country back from those who wish to harm us, rather than the enemies abroad. There have been so many weaknesses in our federal law enforcement that maybe if I get into trouble again with the Feds, I can successfully get out of most charges because of the ineffectiveness of a once-grand institution. We’ve become a joke to the world now, within those last nearly two years. We’ve lost to Iran after so long, and for what? Giving them 300 billion dollars and some extra billions in frozen assets? They didn’t start the war, and we sure as heck didn’t win it. I don’t see how we won when the aim was to “open the Strait of Hormuz,” when we literally gave Iran and Oman the authority to control it. How do we, as a nation, act like we can bully people? We can’t and never should have had to do it in the first place. 14 people could be alive now, instead they’re dead, by a president who seems to have Obama Derangement Syndrome, and not an “I screwed up” mentality.

If I could leave this country, I would, but unfortunately, I can’t because legal issues prevent me from doing so. I’m sick and tired of being portrayed as “winning” when we slide into higher prices for food, gas, and other necessities, while the government claims to “not have enough money” for basic healthcare. Everybody else figured it out, but we can’t, because frankly, I think we don’t want to. Yet after 2027, we’ll have healthcare problems from those who voted for this madness, and hopefully will get a clue somehow that their vote put us in the situation, not Obama, Biden, or the Democrats. While the Dems have been generally lackluster in some regard, they’re pulling their heads out of their fourth point of contact slowly but surely, knowing that in order to succeed, we need to fight fire by fire, and not just turn the other cheek and hope it’ll magically come about.
