I had to break down and DNF this book. If the 8% I read is indicative of the style he wrote in, I don't think Iran issued a fatwa against Salman Rushdie. Frankly, I think the book makes no sense, and can be compared to the Bible, where things that don't make sense seem like a reality that never existed. I mean, there's no rhyme or reason, so I had to force myself to read it, and I found myself drifting off before deciding not to finish this book. It's maybe just not for me, I guess, as, again, I don't see how Khomeini decided to issue the fatwa. I mean, this is just bizarre writing, and again, even the Bible at least has a good storyline to work with. This? Just rambling and stuff that I can't bend my head around. Maybe I missed the point of the book, but I can't go any further with it. 1 out of 5 stars.
